Eligible universities and colleges include 2-year, 4-year and graduate schools which are recognized and accredited institutions. Students must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

How many tournament events are there and when are they played?

The tournament runs for just over eight months. There will be 37 qualifying rounds known as "Super Satellites" with $500 in scholarship awards each week. They will be played every Sunday at 4 PM EST; with the first Super Satellite being played on Sunday, August 29, 2004, and the last Super Satellite being played on Sunday, May 8, 2005.

The Satellite Event will be played on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 4 PM EST. It offers $5,000 in scholarship awards and the TOP 20% of players in the Satellite Event secure a place in the Online Final.

What are the laws related to participating in the tournament series?

The laws of gambling and participation in games of skill or chance vary from state to state. Poker is a game of skill, not a game of random chance and the College Poker Championship never requires a student to purchase to qualify. Both these points impact the interpretation of local, state and federal laws and as such we are not in a position to address every jurisdiction's legal interpretation on a global basis. We therefore defer the responsibility to each participant to understand the laws in their area.
