What are the laws related to participating in the tournament series?
The laws of gambling and participation in games of skill or chance vary from
state to state. Poker is a game of skill, not a game of random chance and the
College Poker Championship never requires a student to purchase to qualify. Both
these points impact the interpretation of local, state and federal laws and as
such we are not in a position to address every jurisdiction's legal
interpretation on a global basis. We therefore defer the responsibility to each
participant to understand the laws in their area.
